The Savage Axis II Hardwood c/m Bolt Action Rifle is a very rugged weapon with simple ergonomics and slim lines. It comes standard with an adjustable rear sight and sights. The Hardwood version features a BoydS hardwood stock.
The barrel is made of carbon steel with button rifling rifling. The manufacturing style, the material, its sporty contour and its 22" (559mm) make this rifle have superior accuracy. In addition, the nut-locking system between the barrel and the action allows for precise headspace.
The action is completed with a floating-head bolt that ensures that it can self-center during locking, resting evenly in the recess of the action and making the bolt face exactly square to the base of the cartridge. The bolt head is separated and connected to the bolt body by a shafts with some slack. When bolted, the floating head can self-center, which results in a perfect engagement of the lugs, leaving the bolt head face square.
The trigger is the famous ACCUTRIGER, one of the best standard triggers on the market. It integrates a safety tab that shows the trigger, called AccuRelease. Thanks to this feature, it locks the sear and prevents the trigger from firing unless the finger covers the trigger face completely. If pressure is applied to the trigger from the side, the gun will not fire, because the safety has not been depressed. It complements this feature with a two-position manual safety, located behind the action, which is quiet and easy to operate even when wearing Gloves.
It features ultra-short travel, glass rod-like breakage and completely exceptional performance. It provides a clear shot that is valid even for precision shooting. It also allows easy user adjustment, in this case and for this model from 0.680 kg (2.5 pounds) to 2.72 kg (6 pounds).
Unlike other rifles of the competition, the feeding system is by means of a quality removable magazine, with capacity for four cartridges. The magazine, made of metal and polymer, is recessed into the belly of the stock, lying flush with the butt. The stock also features two swivel ring bolts for attaching a gun belt.

When the word Rifle is used, anyone, including a non-expert, evokes a classic Mauser bolt-action rifle of military type. We could say that it is the current rifle par excellence, it is the most used in any hunting modality, the most universal for its variety of calibers, weights, sizes, finishes, applications, manufacturers and prices.
It is a repeating rifle, that is to say a rifle that allows repeating the shot whose action consists of a bolt that, manually operated by a rotation and thrust movement, captures the cartridge from the magazine and introduces it into the chamber "locking it" (closing it), arms the punch or needle, to subsequently allow the shot to be fired.
The mechanism of the bolt can be variable, currently there are bolts with axial action without apparent rotation. The ammunition magazine admits a variable number of cartridges, usually 5 for non-Magnum calibers and 3 or 4 for the latter. Some models allow the use of a detachable magazine.
Repetition should never be confused with automatism.
They are the most accurate rifles and the simplest to build.
In some models, barrels of different caliber can be interchanged, in which case the long action group (Magnum calibers) and the short action group (Magnum calibers) are compatible.
Advantages
- It is the most robust and reliable of all
- High ballistic accuracy (unmatched by other repeating systems)
- The extraction and reloading mechanisms provide total operational safety
- It is slow firing, making it difficult to shoot quickly and fluently
- It is too large for long days of hunting on foot
- The manual action of the bolt unholsters the weapon at each shot, which forces the hunter to retake the aiming elements and means a loss of time that can be crucial in the second shot
- BIG HUNTING RIFLE
Para the purchase of a rifle requires a copy of the ID card and LONG GUN RIFLE PERMIT (D).
