WINCHESTER XPR COMPO BATTUE THREADED RIFLE
The Winchester XPR Compo Compo Battue Threaded is specially designed for the hunter looking for accuracy, safety and versatility. Its M14x1 threaded barrel allows for the installation of a sound moderator or muzzle brake, while its compatibility with the Kite Optics K1 Reflex red dot makes it a highly effective choice in dynamic hunting situations.
This model features open sights and LPA fiber optic rear sight, easily adjustable with an Allen wrench, ensuring fast and accurate aiming even in low visibility conditions.
The trigger system integrates the prestigious M.O.A. trigger, originally developed for the legendary Winchester M70, which offers a crisp, ultra-fast firing pin release thanks to its rotating lever mechanism. With the triple-zero principle (zero dead stroke, zero trace, zero overtravel), it ensures maximum accuracy with every shot.
In terms of safety, the XPR Compo Battue has a two-position safety that combines traditional safety (on/off) with a bolt lock that allows loading and unloading even when the safety is activated. It also features an arming indicator on the bolt lever, which immediately displays the rifle's status.

It is no secret to anyone who handles a firearm that dirt can be its worst enemy. Corrosion or the storage of foreign matter can hinder the operation of the weapon and, in the case of affecting the cartridges, cause accidents that can have serious consequences.

These are repeating rifles, in which after manually arming the first cartridge and the shot is fired, the rifle itself ejects the case and reloads by inserting the new cartridge into the chamber.
Just as the double rifle (Express) has a counterpart in double-barrel shotguns, the semi-automatic has one in repeating shotguns.
This type of rifle should not be confused with automatic rifles, in which continuous shots are fired as long as the trigger is held down. In the semi-automatic the only thing that is automatic is the feedback, being the firing, shot by shot, always manual.
The procedures used by this type of rifles, for their automatic arming, are of different nature (combustion gases, inertial, springs), but the basic principle is to take advantage of part of the surplus energy produced as a result of the firing.
One of the indirect advantages of automatic reloading is the partial absorption of recoil, which, together with the almost immediate availability of charge, allows successive shots to be fired without disengagement, placing it on a par or even at an advantage with double rifles (Express), especially if we take into account the prices of both.
Due to the relative weakness of its mechanisms, the calibers that are manufactured are of medium type, with some exceptions in the medium segment of the Magnum.
One of the main problems that are blamed on it, are the failures of the automatism, which are generally obviated with a proper cleaning, which should always be done after use. Its other handicap is the precariousness of the safety system with bullet in the chamber, in relation to rifles with other action mechanisms.
The cartridge magazine is limited to two, by law, in our country.
In summary, it is a rifle that can be very suitable for use in hunting and related modalities.
Advantages
- Very practical for the hook and the hunt, in any terrain
- Valid for wandering big game hunting ("Guerra Galana")
- As it does not require manual reloading action, it allows the hunter to concentrate on aiming and rectifying the shot, more quickly
- Risk of jamming of the repeating mechanism
- Faster aging (mechanically speaking)
- Lower ballistic accuracy than bolt-action rifles, so they are not usually used for shots at distances of more than 100 m., so they are not valid for stalking
