Savage Axis II Bolt Action Rifle
Model of the AXIS range, the entry-level segment of rifles from the prestigious Savage brand. This economical rifle has a great finish and state-of-the-art technology. The stock has been injection molded in an elegant black color and is incredibly resistant, ergonomic and has slimmer lines. Another highlight in the field of ergonomics is the incorporation of a 25mm anti-recoil butt pad, especially soft to absorb the recoil of the most powerful calibers.
As for the handguard, it has specially designed cut-outs for the fingers of the support hand. They allow a very stable, effective and comfortable grip. The pistol grip also has a strategy of cuts where the palm rests and a stop at the base, which allows a comfortable and firm grip. The feeding system is powered by a removable magazine with a capacity for four cartridges. The magazine, made of metal and polymer, is recessed in the belly of the stock and does not protrude from the stock. The stock also has two rotating ring-holder bolts for attaching a rifle belt. This stock is also notable for the use of internal steel pillars to seat the action in a precise and stable manner.
The 20" (508mm) barrel has a sporting contour. It is made of carbon steel with rifling following the button rifling technique, which Savage specializes in and is one of the reasons for its high accuracy. The nut-locking system between the barrel and the action allows for precise headspace. The action is the same as the 110 series, characterized by a wide ejection window.
The action is completed by a floating-head bolt that ensures that it can self-center during locking, resting evenly in the recess of the action and making the bolt face exactly square to the cartridge base. The bolt head is separated and connected to the bolt body by a shafts with some slack. When bolted, the floating head can self-center, which results in a perfect engagement of the lugs, leaving the bolt head face square.
The trigger is the famous ACCUTRIGER, one of the best standard triggers on the market. It integrates a safety tab that shows the trigger, called AccuRelease. Thanks to this feature, it locks the sear and prevents the trigger from firing unless the finger covers the trigger face completely. If pressure is applied to the trigger from the side, the gun will not fire, because the safety has not been depressed. It complements this feature with a two-position manual safety, located behind the action, which is quiet and easy to operate even when wearing Gloves.
It features ultra-short travel, glass rod-like breakage and completely exceptional performance. It provides a clear shot that is valid even for precision shooting. It also allows easy user adjustment, in this case and for this model from 0.680 kg (2.5 lbs) to 2.72 kg (6 lbs).

When the word Rifle is used, anyone, including a non-expert, evokes a classic Mauser bolt-action rifle of military type. We could say that it is the current rifle par excellence, it is the most used in any hunting modality, the most universal for its variety of calibers, weights, sizes, finishes, applications, manufacturers and prices.
It is a repeating rifle, that is to say a rifle that allows repeating the shot whose action consists of a bolt that, manually operated by a rotation and thrust movement, captures the cartridge from the magazine and introduces it into the chamber "locking it" (closing it), arms the punch or needle, to subsequently allow the shot to be fired.
The mechanism of the bolt can be variable, currently there are bolts with axial action without apparent rotation. The ammunition magazine admits a variable number of cartridges, usually 5 for non-Magnum calibers and 3 or 4 for the latter. Some models allow the use of a detachable magazine.
Repetition should never be confused with automatism.
They are the most accurate rifles and the simplest to build.
In some models, barrels of different caliber can be interchanged, in which case the long action group (Magnum calibers) and the short action group (Magnum calibers) are compatible.
Advantages
- It is the most robust and reliable of all
- High ballistic accuracy (unmatched by other repeating systems)
- The extraction and reloading mechanisms provide total operational safety
- It is slow firing, making it difficult to shoot quickly and fluently
- It is too large for long days of hunting on foot
- The manual action of the bolt unholsters the weapon at each shot, which forces the hunter to retake the aiming elements and means a loss of time that can be crucial in the second shot
- BIG HUNTING RIFLE
Para the purchase of a rifle requires a copy of the ID card and LONG GUN RIFLE PERMIT (D).
