TIPS
When choosing a fishing duck, we must first of all be aware of our own wingspan and weight. Therefore, one of the most important points is the air capacity of the chambers, since it will determine the maximum weight they can support.
The materials the duck is made of are of utmost importance; the more resistant and the stronger the seams are, the better the quality of the duck and the more uses and hours of work it will support. In addition, if we are going to fish in areas with vegetation, rocks or branches, we will avoid unwanted punctures and breakages.
Another factor to take into account is the load that we will demand from the duck, since there are different possibilities on the market with multiple pockets and accessories that can be better adapted to our tastes.
TYPES OF DUCKS
- Round or circular: they take up little space and are the most practical for storage. Their main disadvantage is that it is usually difficult to get into them and also flapping is more uncomfortable.
- V-shaped: they are the most common. They have a front opening to facilitate entry and flapping as it offers a more comfortable posture with its adjustable backrest. The V-shape itself makes it easier to move through the water and provides more safety thanks to its two air chambers.
- Catamarans: this is the most modern and advanced option. With a simple assembly it allows us to vary the fishing position since we go higher. They offer greater load capacity and the option of incorporating oars or a small engine.
- Hybrid: they combine the stability of the catamaran and the easy transport of the duck.
