The regulator Aqualung Leg3nd MBS it's for the passionate, the explorers for whom diving is more than a sport, a way of being. Here is the third generation Legend. The most advanced, innovative and ergonomic generation of regulators ever created. These engineering masterpieces mark the beginning of a new way to discover by ensuring maximum breathing comfort while being intuitive and easy to use.
The revolutionary combination of the Venturi effect and adjusting the inhalation effort is natural and intuitive. The Aqua Lung Breath Control System allows the diver to control both with a simple turn. All depths, all conditions, coughs the dives MBS will adapt.
The Breath Control System is a new way to adjust comfort in the second stage. The diver can control breathing comfort with a simple turn. The MBS is a unique combination setting: it controls the inhalation effort and the Venturi effect automatically.
With the MBS in maximum position: The air stream injection has no restrictions and the flow is maximized.
With the MBS in the minimum position (only one complete turn): The spring is fully compressed and the inhalation effort is about 3 mbar higher. A continuous flow is contained when the Venturi leaf constricts the salt injection valve.

Stage one:
- When the first stage is not connected to the bottle valve, the Autoclosure Mechanism (ACD) keeps the suction valve closed to protect the internal parts of the first stage from contamination and corrosive water.
- It preserves the internal lubrication.
- It keeps the suction valve filter clean and dry.
- Safer for high oxygen percentages.
- Exceptional performance in cold water achieved thanks to three modern Aqua Lung antifreeze properties:
- Where there is no moisture, there is no ice: the LEG3ND's integrated dry chamber keeps the internal components clean and dry by insulating them from the outside.
- The deep lines create a surface area for heat exchange that helps prevent ice formation in the mechanism (+30% vs Glacia / +70% vs Legend 2).
- The overmolded cap slows the formation of ice in the outer diaphragm.
- Self-compensated (also called overcompensated).
- The working pressure is gradually increased to keep breathing in optimum condition: depending on the depth of the diver, the working pressure of the first stage is raised automatically to counteract the increasing density of the air being breathed.
- The Estribo and DIN ergonomic screws are made of a dual soft grip» material to provide better grip when installing or removing the first stage, especially with cold hands.
- The die-cast Stribo screw prevents water retention.
- The specialised ACD protective cap is attached to the regulator body to protect the suction valve and ACD system from impact damage.
- The HP and MP ports are perfectly positioned to provide an optimal cuff path.
- The new opening channels with front cover allow water to flow sideways over the diaphragm.
- Radial openings prevent continuous flows while diving with strong currents.
- Wider apertures to reduce peak respiratory flow by an impressive 20%.
- The new overmolded purge cover is made of elastomer with a soft-touch effect.
- Overmolded air purge.
- The larger surface area makes the regulator purge simpler.
- The deep purge controller optimizes airflow with minimal effort.
- The patented Comfobite nozzle reduces jaw fatigue and ensures a more comfortable second stage.
- The reusable and removable nozzle clamps make it possible to change nozzle in a simple way and without the need for tools and avoiding plastic waste.
- The larger heat exchanger helps prevent freezing of the second stage mechanism.
- Air duct deflector.
- It directs the airflow during the inhalation phase.
- The two-material hydrodynamic deflector resets the exhaust force.
- Light and flexible hose (only 132 g) Aqua Flex with dual protectors.
How to choose your scuba regulator
The scuba regulator is the one that allows us to breathe the air contained in the tank. It regulates the air and makes it go from the pressure in the tank to a pressure suitable for the diver.
Para choosing your regulator you must be clear about the type of use you want to give it and the characteristics that will be necessary for that use.
ACCORDING TO THE TYPE OF PRACTICE
- Dives from 0 to 20m: choose a single piston regulator or a regulator with an uncompensated diaphragm.
- Dives over 20m: choose a regulator with either a single piston or a balanced diaphragm.
- Diving in cold water: it will be necessary to have an anti-freezing system.
- Diving at great depth: choose Venturi or Vortex to facilitate breathing.
- Conception
- Single piston: simple, resistant and very easy to take care of. It is the standard regulator par excellence.
- Balanced piston: more technical and professional as it offers a larger air flow in case of need.
- Balanced diaphragm: better insulated for heavy water and ideal for cold water.
- Comfort
- 1st Stage:
- Uncompensated: comfort for dives up to 20m.
- Compensated. Uniform and ample air flow in any situation.
- 2nd Stage:
- Compensated: increases breathing comfort
- Venturi effect: facilitates inspiration with an acceleration in the arrival of air.
- 1st Stage:
Regulator care
The regulator is undoubtedly one of the most important parts of the equipment, it is important to know how to take care of it
- Rinse it with fresh water after each use: for which we will first check that the cap of the connection to the bottle is correctly placed
- Store it in the shade and do not expose it to high temperatures
- Take special care that no tube is forcibly bent
- Put it in the hands of specialized technicians for periodical revisions
- Para when transporting it, store it separately from the rest of the equipment and with extreme care
- Never take the bottles by the regulator (or in the water)
